PLOVDIV - LIVE PUPPET SHOW

If you are in Plovdiv and making your way back to your hotel after having a meal at one of the many fashionable restaurants in the centre of town you might come across a live theatre show. During the evening, just opposite the main post office, an elderly gentleman regularly performs to an appreciate crowd of tourists, clubbers and residents, who happen to be passing through the main square.

It is an impressive show! Soldiers, dancers and folk characters - all in traditional dress perform to the sound of Bulgarian folk music. The puppeteer is very skilful and the figures heads, arms and legs perform in sync to the rthymm of the music. It is an impressive proffessional show complete with lighting. There is a cap in front of the stage for people that would like to give something in return for this unusual entertainment.
